The Nursing Attendant is responsible for assisting the Emergency Services Medical team in providing patient centered care. The Nursing Attendant duties include transporting patients for diagnostic tests and to in-patient units, stocking supplies, changi ng linens, delivering meal trays, lifting/positioning patients, and cleaning of equipment, assisting with various patient care related duties; focus on safe work practices, high quality work and excellent customer service. This position is intended to pr ovide additional capacity to facilitate movement of patients in the Emergency Department and will be scheduled predominantly for evening and night shifts.
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- BLS certification required
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills
- Customer focused with a service attitude
- Ability to work as a member of a team using excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to read, write and communicate in English
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
- Must be self-directed and show initiative
- Good work and attendance record required
