Michael Garron Hospital (MGH) is committed to providing barrier-free access for all persons to its environments, programs and services. We are continually working to make our space more accessible and have embarked on a multi-year redevelopment project that will modernize our physical space to meet and exceed the accessibility requirements under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and its Regulations including the Accessibility Standards for Customer Service.
MGH’s Accessibility Plan demonstrates our commitment and continuing efforts to eliminate accessibility barriers.
Designated parking spaces for persons with disabilities are available in the Dewji Family and Mr. Lube Parking Garage (main public parking, entrance on Sammon Avenue east of Coxwell Avenue). The Sammon Avenue entrance also serves as a drop-off zone. However, parking in this zone is not permitted.
Wheel-Trans stops are located at the Coxwell Avenue and Sammon Avenue entrances.
All entrances are accessible. (Please not this may be impacted by construction. See our Ongoing construction work at Michael Garron Hospital page for the latest information).
All wings at the hospital are equipped with elevators.
Accessible washrooms are located throughout the Hospital. First floor accessible washroom locations include:
G Zone
H and K Zones
J Zone
T Zone (Ken and Marilyn Thomson Patient Care Centre)
A TTY telephone is available at the Sammon Avenue entrance.
If you require interpretation services for a clinical appointment, please advise your care provider and they will arrange for a trained interpreter to assist you during your appointment.
We are able to assist with services for patients with a hearing impairment. Please ask a nurse or contact MGH's Interpreter Services Coordinator at 416-469-6580 ext. 2309 or @email for special phone services or to contact someone who can provide sign language services.
