Paediatric Inpatient Service

The Paediatric Inpatient Service at Michael Garron Hospital (MGH) treats newborns and children up to 18 years of age with a variety of health conditions and cares for children before and after surgery. We provide family-centred care and encourage parents and guardians to stay with their child during hospitalization and to be active partners in their care.

Children will receive treatment from one or more members of our highly skilled care team of paediatricians, surgeons, paediatric nurses, dietitians, social workers, child life specialists, pharmacists and lactation consultants.

As a teaching site for medical students and nursing students, we always keep abreast of current research and new practice in paediatrics.

Surgical services include general surgery, orthopaedics, urology, plastic surgery, gynaecology, ophthalmology, ear, nose and throat (ENT) and dentistry. We work closely with the Hospital for Sick Children if other specialty consultations are required.
