The Colposcopy Clinic serves individuals aged 18 and older who have received abnormal Pap smear results and/or have abnormal cells on their cervix or genitalia and require further examination. The clinic is part of the Surgical Gynecology Program.
What is colposcopy?
Colposcopy is a procedure which allows healthcare providers to closely examine the vagina, cervix and vulva. This is often done using a lighted magnifying instrument.
Who will I see in the clinic?
Clinic patients are seen by a gynecologist who has received specialized training. They are also seen by a nurse and/or other clerical staff.
How can I get an appointment?
Patients must be referred to the clinic by their primary care provider (e.g. family physician and/or nurse practitioner) or a gynecologist.
