The Division of Neurology at Michael Garron Hospital provides comprehensive care to patients with disorders of the nervous system. Our neurologists are experts in assessing and treating many common and disabling conditions such as:

  • Migraine
  • Stroke
  • Epilepsy
  • Peripheral neuropathies
  • Functional neurological disorders
  • Alzheimer’s disease
  • Parkinson’s disease
  • Sleep disorders

Areas of subspeciality expertise

Our team of neurologists offer additional subspecialized services including electromyography and nerve conduction studies (EMG/NCS) for assessment of peripheral nerve and muscle disorders, cranial nerve blocks for headaches and pediatric neurology assessments.

  • General Neurology Clinic: We provide assessments for all neurological disorders.
  • Electromyography and Nerve Conduction Studies (EMG/NCS): We provide assessments for peripheral nerve and muscle disorders with the use of EMG/NCS testing.
  • Rapid Neurology and Stroke/TIA Clinics: We provide urgent neurological assessments for patients referred from the MGH emergency department.
  • Paediatric Neurology Clinic: A paediatric neurologist is available to assess children under 18 years of age.

REFERRALS

You need a referral from a physician to see a neurologist.

For physicians who wish to refer patients to the general neurology clinic, please fax all referrals to 416-469-6584. If you wish to refer a patient to a specific neurologist, please indicate the neurologist’s name on the referral.

How to prepare for your appointment

Please arrive 30 minutes prior to your appointment to register at Patient Registration (M1, first floor of the Thomson Centre). Bring your health card and current medications with you. If you wish to reschedule or cancel your appointment please call 416-469-6406 at least 48 hours before your appointment.
