After the opening of the much-anticipated Ken and Marilyn Thomson Patient Care Centre in early 2023, Michael Garron Hospital (MGH), in partnership with EllisDon and Infrastructure Ontario, is embarking on the next phase of its campus redevelopment project, including renovation, demolition and landscaping work.
RENOVATIONS
Major renovation work is underway at MGH as part of the hospital’s campus transformation, with a focus on the hospital’s original campus. This much-needed work will align MGH’s older wings with the bright and spacious Thomson Centre, and over the long-term, will help the hospital better serve the East Toronto community. Renovating and replacing some of the hospital’s most outdated clinical areas will create a welcoming, safe and efficient facility for patients and their families.
sPRING/sUMMER 2023
Patients and visitors can expect to experience noise, hallway closures and detours around the hospital. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we complete these renovations to better serve our community.

demolition
During the summer and fall of 2023, demolition will begin on several outdated wings (A, B, C, F wings and D podium). More information about this work will be shared closer to the start date.
