The division of general surgery at Michael Garron Hospital (MGH) manages a broad range of disease from common general surgical procedures to highly complex procedures that are only done in specialized centers.
MGH's division of general surgery is a leader in surgical safety initiatives. We are involved in the best practices in general surgery at the University of Toronto and are one of the first divisions in Toronto and Canada to adopt the World Health Organization surgical safety checklist. We focus on quality integrated surgical care and multidisciplinary oncology care.
Our interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals provides a continuum of care for surgical patients from pre-admission to discharge. Division members are affiliated with the University of Toronto and are leaders in surgical education within their specialty and subspecialty.
