We provide an extensive range of diagnostic laboratory testing for inpatients and hospital outpatients. Our medical laboratory technologists and technicians perform and/or prepare sophisticated laboratory tests on blood, body fluids and body tissue. Our laboratory physicians facilitate diagnoses.
Your physician’s decisions regarding diagnosis and treatment are often based on laboratory test results.
We are committed to providing quality, timely and reliable service to our community. We pursue excellence in providing diagnostic information and services and act as a resource and facilitator by educating our customers in the appropriate testing strategies and utilization of our services.
Most outpatient laboratory tests will have same day results and will be sent to your physician and MyChart. Specialty tests sent to reference laboratories can take up to 10 business days. Surgical Pathology results can take up to 15 business days. Backlogs of pathology results can occur at times from our reference laboratories that is beyond our control, and does not necessarily mean that something is abnormal with the result. Blood Collection
Hospital outpatient blood collection requires an MGH blood requisition obtained from an MGH clinic. We do not accept the black and white Ministry of Health Form.
Outpatient Blood Collection Centre (OPD)
Located on the T Zone, 1st floor
Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Weekends and holidays closed
Please ensure that you register in M1 Patient Registration prior to arrival at the outpatient blood collection centre.
Oncology Outpatient Blood Collection Centre
Located on the K-wing, 2nd floor
Monday to Friday 7:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.
Weekends and holidays closed
