As part of the multi-disciplinary team the Unit Clerk is responsible for the facilitation of patient flow through the area and acts as a liaison to staff, patients, their families and the public; the incumbent is professional, courteous and displays th e values of the organization during all interactions while working collaboratively with the clinic and interdisciplinary staff to achieve. This may require at times working in other areas within the Cardiology portfolio.
- Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent educational preparation
- Training related to office administration/office coordination
- Knowledge of medical terminology required
- 2 years relevant recent experience working as a unit clerk within a fast paced ambulatory clinic environment required.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team in an extremely diverse, fast paced environme nt
- Proven innovation in problem solving skills and critical thinking
- Demonstrated interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
- Professional telephone etiquette is mandatory
- Expert in the use of Powerchart, ANSOS, ESM, SAP/SRM, Word andExc el
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
- Excellent computer and keyboarding skills
- Demonstrated embodiment of MGH core service standards and values as demonstrated through tact, diplomacy and discretion in matters that re late to patients, staff and hospital affairs
- Demonstrate ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
- Demonstrated ability to be receptive to instructions/direction
- Able to work independently as well as work in a teamenvi ronment
- Excellent organization skills required
- Experience coordinating patient bookings appointments required
- Experience with booking ambulance service and critical.
- Experience with data collection and utilization of CCIS database.
- Cha rt and file management
- Demonstrated ability to work closely with patients, to provide patient focused care
