Beginning June 1 at 8 p.m. Michael Garron Hospital's (MGH) public parking lot will be moved to the lot on Sammon Avenue, west of Coxwell. These temporary changes to public parking are necessary to make way for construction of the new Ken and Marilyn Thomson Patient Care Centre starting fall 2018.
As we work to build the new Patient Care Centre, there will be a lot of activity across our campus.
Recognizing that changes to parking can cause an inconvenience to community members, by selecting this lot, the Hospital hopes to minimize the impact to patients and visitors as access remains available through the Coxwell Avenue entrance. Due to increased activity and distance, patients and visitors are encouraged to consider these tips to make visits to the Hospital as smooth as possible:
- Allow extra time for parking to ensure prompt arrival to appointments
- Consider taking public transit or ask to be dropped off at the Hospital by a family member or friend
MGH's future parking plan
In 2021, four levels of underground parking (407 spots) will be open to the public located underneath the new Patient Care Centre. This will increase parking spots available to patients and visitors, with more spaces conveniently located closer to the main Hospital entrance. We thank patients, visitors, staff and the community for their patience and support as MGH works to improve the future of parking and healthcare services provided by the Hospital.
