What to expect during MGH's Accreditation Survey

What to expect during MGH’s Accreditation Survey from April 28 to May 1, 2025

From April 28 to May 1, 2025, Michael Garron Hospital (MGH) will undergo an Accreditation survey – a voluntary review process conducted by Accreditation Canada to assess the hospital against national healthcare standards.

During this time, four Accreditation Canada surveyors will be on-site to observe hospital staff, physicians and the hospital’s Board of Directors and to engage in important discussions about the quality and safety of patient care. Once the survey is complete, Accreditation Canada will provide the hospital with valuable feedback about what it is doing well and where it has room for improvement.

Why does this survey matter to patients and care partners?

Taking part in this survey is one of the many ways that MGH demonstrates its commitment to providing safe, high-quality care for patients and maintaining continuous quality improvement efforts based on expert feedback and the patient voice.

For patients, seeing the Accreditation Canada seal means that they can rest assured knowing the hospital has been reviewed by experts who understand the standards of care and that its staff and leaders are working hard to meet those standards.

What can patients and care partners expect during the survey?

If you are on-site at MGH between April 28 and May 1, a surveyor may ask to speak with you about your experiences. While participation in these conversations is not required, patients and care partners are encouraged to take part if they feel comfortable.
