Palliative Care

Our Palliative Care program aims to improve the quality of life for patients facing life-limiting and chronic illnesses. Symptom and pain management and making life as comfortable as possible for patients and families is our top priority.

At Michael Garron Hospital, the Palliative Care team provides a holistic approach to care, focusing on the emotional, psychosocial and spiritual health needs of our patients. Families and loved ones can visit at any time of the day or night. Beloved pets are also welcome to make visits. Our facilities include a garden terrace for the enjoyment and comfort of our patients and their loved ones.

Our inter-professional team includes physicians, respirologists, nurse practitioners, nurses, personal care workers, respiratory therapists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech language pathologists, dietitians, pharmacists, social workers, psychiatrist, inter-faith chaplains, bioethicist and volunteers.

If you think your loved one may benefit from palliative care, please ask your healthcare team for a palliative care consult or referral.
