Community Partner of Distinction Award

At Michael Garron Hospital we are inspired by the passionate belief that a healthy community is a strong community. And it’s our job to help build community by recognizing contributions and achievements of our partners. The Community Partner of Distinction Award recognizes an individual, team or organization for their exemplary contribution to creating health and building community.  

This award recognizes that to create health and generate wellbeing is not the job of the hospital alone and we work closely with patients, caregivers, partners, residents and our community through formal and informal partnerships. We believe our collective perspectives, knowledge and skills can achieve a greater impact than working in isolation. The Community Partner of Distinction Award is presented each year to an individual, team or organization that works closely with the Toronto East Health Network and has shown significant advancement of the health care system in collaboration with others.

• recognizes that partnership is more than just transactional interactions and a strong and meaningful partnership takes time and commitment  

•  is deeply committed to offering professionalism and expertise, empathy and compassion to those living and dying, celebrating and grieving

• lives the values of compassion, integrity, courage and accountability
