Overview

Reporting to the Medical Director of Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) or designate, collaborating with key stakeholders such as the IPAC team, Quality Improvement, Research and Innovation team, clinical leaders, and data analysts to provide expert ise in the development, implementation, maintenance and ongoing evaluation of the Surveillance Program and research projects.

Education

- Masters degree in Epidemiology and/or Quality Improvement preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Certification (or eligible for certification) from the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (CIC) within 2 years.

Qualifications

- Possesses knowledge and/or has job related experience in the health care field and is familiar with patient care practices.
- Proven expertise in infection prevention and control with demonstrated ability to effectively articulate the important comp onents of the IPAC programme inclusive of QI and research projects with all levels of personnel/clients
- Comprehensive knowledge and demonstrated skills in epidemiological and statistical methods, applied research, surveillance, microbiology, and infe ctious diseases
- Demonstrates strong computer skills (MS Word, MS PowerPoint, internet searches, email) and proficiency in data management and analysis using database and statistical software (MS Excel, MS Access, SPSS, SAS, EpiInfo)
- Demonstrates expert verbal and written communication skills.
- Works independently and is self-motivated, self-directed while possessing the ability to work in a collaborative manner to achieve and meet specified project timelines for submissions and publications
