Overview

We are the Heart of the East! Join our team as a Human Resources Assistant.

It is an exciting time to be joining our team as we move closer to the opening of our new eight storey Ken and Marilyn Thomson Patient Care Centre, a transformational project that will forever change the hospital and the care it provides to our community.

Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, the Human Resources Assistant demonstrates a strong commitment to customer service and is the first point of contact for empl oyee inquiries to the department. The incumbent will support the administrative and organizational needs of the team by preparing correspondence, coordinating billings and payments, ordering supplies, scheduling meetings, taking meeting minutes, filing, maintaining department metrics and producing regular reports through our Human Resources Information System. In this role, the HR Assistant will also lead the coordination of hospital-wide staff engagement events and participate in special projects.

Education

- Post-secondary education in Human Resources Management or a related discipline required.
- Attainment of, or working towards Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation.

Qualifications

- A minimum of 1 year of recent relevant Human Resources experience required, preferably in a healthcare environment.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Demonstrated initiative and problem- solving skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to understand and manage situations utilizing emotional intelligence.
- Ability to recognize, handle and protect highly sensitive and confident ial information.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience organizing large-scale employee events such as appreciation events, long service
awards, take our kids to work day.
- Demonstr ated proficiency in the use of a variety of software packages (ie. Microsoft Word, Excel,
Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and Human Resources Information Systems.
- Good performance and attendance record required
