Michael Garron Hospital (MGH) partners with community pharmacies in East Toronto to provide support and guidance in the delivery of medications for local residents when and as needed.
The goal of this initiative is to ensure our community partners have the support they need to serve and respond to East Toronto’s health needs and to encourage equitable distribution of medications for local residents, especially those who are most vulnerable.
Supporting community pharmacies
At this time, MGH has completed its emergency liquid acetaminophen (Tylenol) and ibuprofen (Advil) support for East Toronto community pharmacies. Our community partners have indicated they are now able to adequately support their patients’ needs using their existing supply channels.
If you need any over-the-counter medications, we encourage you to visit your local pharmacy. You and your family do not need a prescription to access these products.
If you do not see the medication you need on the shelf, please talk to the pharmacist on-site. If the over-the-counter medication you need is not available, the pharmacist can conduct an assessment to make alternative recommendations.

PARTNERING WITH MGH
The community pharmacies we partner with are located in the catchment area for East Toronto Health Partners (ETHP), our Ontario Health Team.
Many of them are in or close to neighbourhoods in East Toronto where local residents face barriers to care and were disproportionately impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Please note our team will continue to support community pharmacies in East Toronto as our capacity allows. If needed, we may prioritize pharmacies located in equity-deserving neighbourhoods in our catchment area.
