#IamMGH tells the stories of our people. Meet Adam Scott, manager of logistics for Plexxus, who works at Michael Garron Hospital (MGH).
“I have more than 15 years of experience in supply chain management, specifically in the healthcare sector. I started in this field after university when I worked for a company that focuses on consulting related to many aspects of hospital supply management across North America. After working with many hospitals and shared service organizations, I began working for Plexxus in 2011.
Through Plexxus, I’ve had the chance to work with North York General Hospital and the Scarborough Health Network. I’ve been with MGH for the past year, where I manage all the stock coming in and out of the hospital, from bloodwork and surgical supplies to personal protective equipment (PPE). This role has been especially crucial during the pandemic, when our team has been faced with challenges related to a global shortage in masks, hand sanitizer and other supplies.
I love the ‘just in time’ feeling of getting our health practitioners the supplies they need when they need them. I think the efficiencies related to that are what drew me to the healthcare stream and the processes around supply chains. I also love knowing that I’m assisting in the delivery of patient care. I get to go home knowing that I’m helping clinicians take care of patients.”
