Overview

The Registration Clerk is responsible for the accurate and efficient scheduling and registration of all patients in the hospital ADT and Scheduling System.

Education

- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Completion of Medical Office Administration or Patient Registration courses preferred.

Qualifications

- 2 years recent relevant registration, admitting and appointment scheduling experience required.
- Previous clerical experience in a hospital/medical environment preferred.
- Knowledge of hospital Admission, Discharge and Transfer (ADT) Systems prefer red.
- Knowledge of patient scheduling systems preferred.
- Strong customer service skills and experience required.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and problem-solve.
- Demonstrated ability to accurately type a minimum of 35-45 wpm.
- Knowledge of medical terminology an asset.
- Flexibility to adapt to a dynamic work environment.
- Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office; Windows, Word, Excel and Outlook email.
- Call-Center or similar telephone customer service experience preferred.
- Evide nce of ongoing education such as post-secondary courses, seminars, workshops, etc.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability for attention to detail while providing high standards of accuracy and efficienc y.
- Experience collecting and processing payments are preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to manage stressful situations with empathy.
- Must be available to work weekends and statutory holidays.
- Must be prepared to work in all areas of Patient Acce ss Services as needed.
- Good work and attendance record required.
