Overview

Reporting to the Director of Redevelopment, the Senior Project Manager’s primary accountabilities will be related to assisting with the management of the organization major Redevelopment Project(s) as well as traditional small construction projects as as signed.

The first and second phases of the major Redevelopment Project is completed and included a new 8 story Patient Care Centre. The third and fourth phases include renovation within existing buildings on campus along with demolition of old buildi ngs. All stages are being delivered under Infrastructure Ontario’s Design-Build-Finance procurement model.

Responsibilities of the Senior Project Manager will include project initiation, planning, design, construction, commissioning and close-out us ing appropriate policies, procedures and practices. To be successful in this role the Senior Project Manager will be required to work in collaboration with Facilities and Maintenance, Infection Prevention and Control, ICAT, Security, Parking and several other hospital departments and clinical staff.

Education

• University or College Degree in Architecture, Building Sciences or Engineering.
• PMP designation or demonstrated understanding of project controls implementation is an asset.
• Prior experience consistent with the responsibilities for this position will be considered for equivalency.

Qualifications

- Five to ten years of related experience in project management at a major hospital or a healthcare related project.
- Prior Experience in the following areas would be an asset:
- Infrastructure Ontario projects;
- Understanding of clinical operation s and healthcare building systems;
- Hospital mechanical and electrical Infrastructure and building systems, and their importance and impact on associated clinical operations;
- Legislation, codes and policies regarding infection; prevention and contro ls regarding healthcare construction and renovations;
- Proficiency in project management software (Microsoft Project, Excel), Experience in using AutoCAD would be considered an asset;
- Prior coordination and management of staff work would be an ass et;
- Effective interpersonal, communication and presentation skills;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Proactive, self-motivated with strong analytical and problem solving skills;
