Overview

Reporting to the Director of Redevelopment, the Project Manager’s primary accountabilities will be related to the planning, management, and implementation of Redevelopment Projects, which vary in scale and complexity. The role will require a skill set wh ich is rooted in project management fundamentals.

The Redevelopment Projects include the new 8 story Patient Care Centre plus major renovations, and is being delivered under Infrastructure Ontario’s Design-Build-Finance procurement model.

Respo nsibilities of the Project Manager will include project initiation, planning, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, FFE procurement & delivery process and close-out using appropriate policies, procedures and practices.

To be successful int his role, the Project Manager will be required to work in collaboration with Clinical Stakeholders, Engineering and Bio-Med, Infection Prevention and Control, ICAT, Security, Parking and several other hospital departments. To successfully implement tasks , the Project Manager will be working on site to suit the needs of the projects.

This is a 1 year contract with possible extension.

Education

- University or College Degree, preferably in Architecture, Building Sciences or Engineering;
- Experience with AutoCAD is required.
- PMP designation or demonstrated understanding of project controls implementation is an asset;
- Prior experienc e in Furniture, Fixture & Equipment (FF&E) procurement processes is an asset.

Qualifications

- Five years of related experience in project management at a major hospital or a healthcare related project.
- Demonstrate capabilities, knowledge and experience in the following areas:
- Infrastructure Ontario projects;
- Understa nding of clinical operations and healthcare building systems;
- Legislation, codes and policies regarding infection; prevention and controls
regarding healthcare construction and renovations;
- Proficiency in project managem ent software (Microsoft Project, Excel);
- Furniture, Fixture and Equipment procurement processes within hospital setting;
- Effective interpersonal, communication and presentation skills;
- Excellent verbal and written communi cation skills; and
- Proactive, self-motivated with strong analytical and problem solving skills.
