Overview

In spring 2018, Michael Garron Hospital began its campus wide redevelopment project in partnership with Ellis Don Infrastructure Healthcare, the Ministry of Health and Long term Care (MOHLTC), and infrastructure Ontario (IO).

This transformational pro ject will be the largest construction project in the history of Michael Garron Hospital; a project that will forever change the organization and the care it provides to the community.

The Mental Health Trainer will be working with Operational Readines s and Mental Health leadership, and other key stakeholders within the Mental Health portfolio to identify, co- develop and deliver training and orientation for the clinical staff. This position will be reporting to the Manager of Operational Readiness. T he Mental Health Trainer will be working closely with the Project Manager of Training and Orientation, Operational Readiness PMs, as well as the Mental Health Operational Readiness Leader (ORL) in collaboration with internal leadership (CRL and Superviso r) to develop and implement the Training and Orientation requirements to occupy the new NPCC building.

Education

- Bachelor’s degree required in Nursing or Allied Health discipline
- Master’s degree or equivalent combination of formal education and experience an asset
- CAMP/PMP certification or equivalent an asset

Qualifications

- 2 years Mental Health Inpatient/Outpatient clinical or operational experience preferred or equivalent, relevant experience
- The ability to inspire staff to get excited to learn and maintain engagement through a well-planned and expertly delivered t raining and orientation program
- Proactive with a proven ability to achieve results and advance work plans
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent analytical, organizational, problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Excellent interperso nal, oral, and written communication and presentation skills
- Familiarity with the patient care process from a holistic systems perspective, complemented by a strong interest in transformative initiatives
- Ability to work independently and as par t of a collaborative team
- Proven attendance record
- Commitment to providing an exceptional experience for staff and clients within a challenging and exciting health care environment
- Have additional education and/or experience in adult lea rning, change management and training development/delivery
- Have strong computer/technology skills with experience working with a variety of equipment and applications
