Colposcopy Clinic

The Colposcopy Clinic serves individuals aged 18 and older who have received abnormal Pap smear results and/or have abnormal cells on their cervix or genitalia and require further examination. The clinic is part of the Surgical Gynecology Program.

What is colposcopy? 

Colposcopy is a procedure which allows healthcare providers to closely examine the vagina, cervix and vulva. This is often done using a lighted magnifying instrument.  

Who will I see in the clinic? 

Clinic patients are seen by a gynecologist who has received specialized training. They are also seen by a nurse and/or other clerical staff.  

How can I get an appointment? 

Patients must be referred to the clinic by their primary care provider (e.g. family physician and/or nurse practitioner) or a gynecologist.

It is very important that you attend the Colposcopy Clinic appointment given to you.

If you require to change your appointment due to extenuating circumstances, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can provide you with a new date and time and so that we can give your appointment time to another patient.
