As a University of Toronto community-affiliated teaching hospital, the Department of Family and Community Medicine at Michael Garron Hospital is committed to providing high-quality education, mentorship and training for the next generation of health-care professionals. We provide a rich learning environment for Family Medicine residents, undergraduate medical students and interprofessional health-care learners.
Our Family Medicine Teaching Unit (FMTU) is made up of more than 60 family physicians who hold faculty appointments with the University of Toronto’s Department of Family and Community Medicine. These physicians practise across a variety of clinical settings and contribute to teaching and mentorship on both a full-time and part-time basis, bringing diverse expertise and perspectives to the education of our learners.
